Horrible salon! The other reviews are correct! My daughter has a perforated eardrum and has been coming into salon weekly to get her hair washed. We only have showers at home and strict instructions that NO water enters the ear as there is hole in the eardrum she has had terrible ear infections so it's important to not get water in it so I needed a "local" salon near me so I could walk to it and decided to take her to colorbox as it's only around the corner. My mum and 2 friends have been there aswell and said some of the girls are nice. The girls (Laura and Sam and a gentlemen that works there) were always lovely and welcoming to my daughter and were absolutely fantastic with her they were so careful with her to make sure no water goes in her ear and they carefully washed the hair and dried it and that's why I kept going because a couple of the stylists were so nice to her. I always made sure I gave them a few pounds tip extra because I thought it was so nice how they were with my daughter. Then suddenly a new lady tended to my daughters hair her name was JANE apparently she is the director or manager (owner) she wet my daughters back completely got water in her EAR was rough doing her hair and didn't even dry her hair properly my daughter was upset and was crying. Then I found out why this lady was being so horrible was because she didn't want Elisha to come into salon every week to get her hair washed and wanted to charge her more an amount of 10 which was ridiculous for just half attempt hair wash and walking out of the salon with wet hair. I complained saying I never had a problem before and was saying I won't be back in the salon and she wasn't bothered she said she was running a business which is a joke. If you are a small business your not horrible to clients I was a paying client on behalf of my daughter. So now she's lost also my mums customs and my two friends custom. Poor stylists that have to work under her I feel sorry for them that's all I can say. So if they can treat a little child like that what kind of business are they running? Luckily I got a lovely other local hair salon that was more that happy to do My daughters hair under the special circumstances for 3 but I will tip generously. Avoid colorbox Salon. especially Jane. She seems desperate for the money but maybe she should learn manners and customer care but then once you have paid she doesn't care about your complaints. Customer Toilet is filthy and were she keeps the "hair dyes" looks cheap and dirty , it looks like it's been painted over roughly and doesn't look presentable. Cheap looking hairdressers but charging nearly Andrew collinge prices were I go regular for my hair done and they are trying to charge them kind of prices which is laughable. I would always recommend save your money and go to somewhere reputable like Andrew collinge Heswall
Horrible nasty little Salon, I will never return and would not recommend it too anyone. Avoid this place like the plague. The staff member was more interested in discussing Saturday night plans than concentrating on my hair.. While there I had to endure the constant complaining of the male stylist, seems he feels hes not being paid enough and was actively criticising the owner of the salon. It does not fill you with confidence when he states, He hates the place... I dont get paid enough for what I do and to top it all off the clients are boring Not what I want when I want to relax and enjoy my treatment. NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!!!!! Be warned, expensive and not a good experience at all. I would suggest a manager is needed to turn this place around before its too late.
Expensive but worth it
This is a small salon but very good the service is excellent and all staff were pleasant and helpful - the stylist I saw asked what I wanted without pushing me to have anything I didn't want or need
Shocking - I was ordered by the business owner to pay for my hair appointment upfront because I had missed one previous appointment due to a child related illness which took priority at that time. The way in which I was addressed was most unpleasant and upsetting, not to mention the height of bad manners. I had heard lots of negative comments about this salon however I overlooked this as petty gossip but it is now quite clear that the opinions of others are much validated by my own shocking experience at the hands of one of the most unpleasant people in business in st helens - you just dont speak to people like this, its totally unacceptable.
